You Dont Have To Live With Stress Anymore

You will tend to experience stress any time you feel overwhelmed, nervous, frustrated or angry. As soon as those stressful feelings begin to take hold, most likely you will think about it constantly which ends up greatly increasing the amount of stress you already had. Put the tips in this article to work to break the cycle of stress.

If you have ever heard the saying that laughter is the best medicine, its true! A great way to reduce stress is simply to laugh. Laughter is natures way of reducing the levels of stress hormones in your body. Along with reducing stress hormones, laughter also increases the good hormones in your body like endorphins and neurotransmitters, all of which help to make us happy.

A great tip that can help you keep stress down is to turn off the television. Studies have shown that watching television actually increases our stress levels. You dont have to stop watching it completely but you should definitely limit how much television youre going to watch everyday.

Write down what is bothering you. Writing it down and seeing it on paper, will help to provide some perspective on what it is that is causing you stress. Divide your paper in half and on one side, list the stressors you can change and on the other side, list those that you can not change. Try to let go of the things you cant change and try to fix the ones that you can change.

Learn how to breath fully using your diaphragm. As practice, breath through your nose, and watch your belly increase in size. Hold the breath for a few seconds before releasing. These deep breaths fully oxygenate your blood, relaxing you quite quickly! In fact, its been found that the opposite, short breathes, can speed up your heart beat, tighten your muscles and increase your stress!

Avoid stress when possible! High blood pressure can be the direct result of too much stress in our lives. It is, of course, natural to experience a short-term spike in blood pressure under stressful situations. Think, for example, about a typical trip to the doctors office. Many people experience such as spike under such conditions. Long term elevation in blood pressure due to stress, however, is considerably more concerning!

Exercise

To lower your stress levels. make sure you exercise at least three to five times each week for thirty minutes each session. The exercise can be anything from running and swimming to simply a daily walk. Exercise has the benefit of releasing endorphins, chemicals that enhance your mood, making it a great way to de-stress at the end of a hectic day!

Exercise is wonderful to relieve stress. It gets your heart rate pumping and takes your mind off of the stressful events in your life. Consider activities such as walking, tennis, running, swimming or biking. Stress related chemicals are burned off during exercise and it is healthy for you and your heart!

One way to deal with stress in your life is to be sure that you do not take up drinking as a means of dealing with it. This is important because alcohol will only make your life more stressful in one way or another. The only positive effect that it has is possibly dulling your emotions. If you feel that you need a drink, stop and analyze what you are feeling. Try to deal with what stress you identify in a more healthy way. Either tackle the problem itself, engage in some vigorous exercise, or listen to your favorite music - whatever works for you.

Stress often leads to more stress, and many people find themselves caught in a cycle of anxiety that may be more than they can deal with. But once you start to alleviate stress and learn to keep it from overwhelming you, you will see a chain reaction in reduction and begin living with a more positive philosophy that does not focus on stress.
